Minutes of the August 15, 2002 meeting of the Historical Area Commission (HAC) held in the New Castle Town Hall at 2nd & Delaware Streets, New Castle, Delaware. Present at roll call were: Mr. Douglas Heckrotte Mrs. Sally Monigle Mrs. Mary Davis, absent Mrs. Jane Miller Mr. William Hentkowski Mrs. Deborah A. Pullan, taking minutes The Acting Chair, Mrs. Sally Monigle called the regular meeting of the Historic Area Commission for the City of New Castle to order at 5:00 p.m. and the roll was called. Old Application: B. Gordon 106 W. 3rd St. Improvements: Brick approval for addition Involved Parties: Mr. Gordon Discussion: Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted. Disposition: Approved L. Shue 17 W. 4th St. Improvements: Review of plans for expansion of room and porch above. Involved Parties: Mrs. Shue Discussion: Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted provided that the litany is followed. Disposition: Approved NEW APPLICATIONS: V. Kumar #53 The Strand Improvements: Addition per plans attached. Involved Parties: Mr. Hemphill Discussion: Action: Disposition: CONSULTATION ONLY J. Davidson 62 W. 4th St. Improvements: Removal of old shed, replace rotten window sills and replace shutters on front of house (1st & 3rd floor). A/C condenser placement approval. Involved Parties: Discussion: Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted for A/C condenser placement, remove shed and repair sills. Shutters: Vote on the application as submitted with the proviso that shutters are too narrow and too tall and should be installed with hardware. Disposition: Approved E. Project done prior to HAC meeting with incorrect rectangular downspouts and k gutters. Disposition: Approved B. Involved Parties: Discussion: Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted with the proviso that restoration company consult with Mr. Heckrotte regarding details of front door trim and cornice, otherwise litany be followed. Jedlick 122 Harmony St. Improvements: Installing shutters on house Involved Parties: Discussion: Action: Mr. Heckrotte: I move we vote on the application as submitted with the proviso that sample Victorian shutters not be used and that original shutters on front be restored and new shutters on side be built to replicate front. Horizontal bars not shutters on basement front windows. Blinds on second floor to be similar to house next door with fixed louvers. Disposition: Approved S.
